SYDNEY COURSE - Bachelor Degrees

Why Choose This Course

The Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality Management (BTHM) was developed by experienced academics and industry professionals. This program prepares you for an effective starting career in tourism and hospitality, with a strong emphasis on case-based learning that is built progressively through the three years of study. Key features of this programme are the arrangement of visiting industry practitioners, to share their knowledge and experiences, and field trips that help students gain a current understanding of the tourism and hospitality environments.

The BTHM prepares you for an entry level management position in either a tourism or hospitality organization. You will also gain sufficient knowledge and practice to start a small business in a related industry.

Student has a choice of selecting one elective subject in Year 2. Not all electives will be offered in every semester.

Federation University Australia is a modern university with its main campus located in Ballarat in regional Victoria. The University was first established in 1870, as the School of Mines, Ballarat, making it the third oldest tertiary institution in Australia with over 130 years of tradition and excellence.

AAPoly is a Federation University Australia Partner Provider Institution and offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes under contract to the University. This partner provider contract between the FedUni and AAPoly involves FedUni controlling the quality of the courses and conferring the qualifications, whilst AAPoly provides the facilities, lecturers, tutors and student services. The curriculum of FedUni programmes delivered at FedUni Partner Provider Institutions is the same as the main campus at Mount Helen in Ballarat.

FedUni approves all academic staff teaching FedUni programmes at AAPoly. Students are enrolled as FedUni students and upon successful completion, are awarded with the FedUni degrees.

We offer smaller class sizes so you don’t get lost in the crowd. Every student feels welcome and is part of a lively team focused on achieving the best academic results.
The tuition fees at AAPoly are competitive for both the BTHM as well as FedUni’s programmes (due to FedUni’s regional university status). During the semester, international students needing extra English language support have access to ELICOS teaching staff for help. Final year students (who studied 2 years or more) are eligible for 20 hours of free IELTS preparation classes, to help them achieve higher band scores.

We offer 3 semesters a year for Higher Education commencing in March, July and November. Students can fast-track their studies by completing:

› A 3 year Bachelor degree in 2 years
› A 2 year MBA / Master of Commerce postgraduate program (4 semesters) in 18 months
› A 1.5 years MBA in 12 months

AAPoly awards higher education scholarships of up to A$1,000 to high achievers every year.

The minimum English language level required to enrol in Higher Education programmes is an overall IELTS score of 6.0, or equivalent. Students must also have completed a Year 12 qualification or equivalent.

For all Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Masters programs, you need to have also successfully completed an Australian undergraduate degree or equivalent at a recognised university.
