Early Childhood Educators assist in caring for the social, emotional, physical and educational needs of infants and young children in various care settings. Early childhood Educators can have a profound influence on a child’s wellbeing and development especially in the years of 0-5.
Qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care focus on the core skills, knowledge and experience required to effectively assess the strengths and interests of children designing meaningful experiences that facilitate the child’s growth and development.
The Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113) will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to use organisation policies, procedures and individual children’s profiles to plan activities and provide care to children, facilitating their leisure and play and enabling them to achieve their developmental outcomes. The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC 50113) qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards.
Some units in CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification are delivered in CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Students upon successful completion of CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification will be credited 3 terms towards CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification. Direct entry into qualifications is available. Please contact the College for more information.
Training is delivered in stages which correspond to AQF Levels II, IV, V, and VI. The prefer pathway is for students to complete the various lower level qualifications which culminate in the higher qualification; i.e. Certificate IV before commencing the Diploma. Students who follow this pathway therefore achieve more than one qualification.
Applicants without the previous level qualifications will be considered if they have relevant qualifications and/or vocational experience.
We aim to equip our graduates with the necessary skills and knowledge to enable them to successfully satisfy the demands of the workplace.
Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC30113)
The program is delivered over 540 hours face to face for 36 college weeks, work placement of 7.6 hours per week for 31 college weeks.
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50113)
The program is delivered over 945 hours face to face for 63 college weeks and work placement of 7.6 hours per week for 58 college weeks.
Assessment methodology may include but is not limited to: Question and Answers, Case Studies, Work Placement Tasks, Project, Skills Based Log, Third Party Evidence, and Observational Assessment.
Year 11 or equivalent certificate of senior secondary education.
Recommended English Level: IELTS 5.5 (If the level of English is insufficient, a suitable course can be arranged.)

*Availability depends on enrolments. Where an enrolment is accepted for a particular stream and that stream is discontinued, the student will be offered a place in an alternative stream. If that is not acceptable, the student will receive a refund in respect of studies not yet undertaken.
Don’t miss your intake date. There are 36 teaching weeks per annum divided into 4 terms of 9 weeks each. The academic year begins in late January and ends late November. Primary intakes are at the beginning of each term.

The duration is then 1 year and 9 months (7 terms).
